The price for an F1B Back Porch Labradoodle is $1800. A $300 deposit holds your puppy and is non-refundable. The deposit is, however, applied to your full purchase price. If you require shipping, the costs for shipping will be additional.
If you might be interested in a guardianship agreement, and if you qualify, we may be willing to negotiate such an arrangement. If you are looking for breeding stock, please let me know and we will discuss the matter. The price of an intact dog with full breeding rights is not the same as the price listed on this page. This price is for pet puppies, not breeding stock.
If, for some reason, we are not selling breeding stock and you are looking for dogs to add to a breeding program
I will refer you
to reputable breeders who are potentially selling intact puppies and breeding rights.
Back Porch puppies will be spayed or neutered before they leave our premises. We believe early spay/neutering to be a healthy and satisfactory contribution to our community. Please do not request that we sell puppies without being spayed/neutered unless we are engaging in a guardianship agreement or have agreed that you are purchasing breeding stock.
While, as a rule, F1B Labradoodles and Goldendoodles have more consistent coat quality. It is impossible to predict whether or not a puppy will shed or produce allergens. We can make an educated guess, based on the parents and statistics, but no one can assure you of these qualities. If you expect that your dog will not shed, you may be disappointed.
If you (or someone in your family) suffer from allergies, please let us know and we will work with you for your puppy selection.
I can tell you that my husband (who has been asthmatic for 50 years and is highly allergic to dogs and cats) has absolutely no allergic reaction to our (F1) dogs. In addition, the cross back breeding to Poodles (F1B, which our puppies are) makes the dog 75% Poodle and 25% Lab so the coat is generally more Poodle-like.
At Back Porch Labradoodles of California, we reserve
the right to help you select a puppy for your needs. We will, of course, honor your opinions and do our best to accommodate you. But there are times when a litter doesn't produce exactly what we wished for. If you are flexible in your choice of gender, color and size, you will be more likely to find a beautiful, loving pet from the expected litter.
Back Porch Labradoodles reserves the right to withhold puppies for our breeding program or to sell as breeding stock.
We also intend to donate puppies to guide dog programs, but a donation will not affect your puppy selection.
It is important that you receive your puppy when (s)he is mature enough to be separated from the litter and it's mother. But it is difficult for a breeder to hold a puppy longer than the maturity period of time. If circumstances arise that require accommodations, you will be billed for kenneling and care of your puppy. Please refer to the purchase contract for details.
If you are not prepared to accept a puppy from the selected litter, Back Porch will hold your deposit for the following year and allow you to select from available litters. After one year, if you have not purchased a puppy, the non-refundable deposit will be forfeited. If, for any reason, Back Porch Labradoodles of California does not produce a litter of comparable quality during that year, your deposit will be refunded and, upon request, we will assist you in finding another puppy from a reputable breeder.
Because we are protective of our puppies' health, we do not generally allow random visits. A Parvo outbreak could destroy every puppy on the premises and Parvo is a very long-lasting threat. The virus can live on surfaces, grasses and in the air for years. When people are puppy shopping, they often go from place to place and hold puppies. This is a wonderful way to bond with a pup, but it is a very dangerous one. We simply can't take that risk. Please understand and respect our decision and policies.
Your puppy will be sent home with a bag of food and feeding instructions, a informational booklet, checklist, helpful web sites, a cuddly toy and a blanket. (S)He will have vet records (including shots) and registration papers. We will put together a baby book for him/her so that you can add to it and keep it handy for the times you will need information. You will also have my home phone number and my promise to stay in touch with you, as long as you keep me advised of your phone and/or address.
While you are waiting for your puppy, you will get regular photo updates and emails telling you about your puppy's progress. (You might want to print these off and put them in your puppy's baby book.)
